Main sewer line rodding is required when your lines have become backed up with sewer material or any obstructions in the pipe lines.
When this happens, you need sewer line rodding.
The process involves the introduction of a sewer rodding snake, anywhere from 10 all the way to over 100 feet throughout your sewer lines and extensions. This shall be performed at the lowest point of the property extending all the way out to the pipes leading to the main city/municipal water sewer lines.
This process can take anywhere from half hour up to 4 hours or the entire day, depending on the size of the property, amount of lines and the debris found inside.
Sewer line rodding is required when houses start to have sewer material seep in through the pipes coming into the basement, usually this will happen after big rain falls, storms and local river/levy inundations.
